insight oriented change

therapy for women

You are here because you are feeling ready to listen to yourself; to get the healing and nurturing you need. I believe you are the most insightful and knowing force in your own life and together, we will harness these strengths so you can build a more peaceful, resilient and empowered version of yourself.

Let's explore how you can:

I'm an authentic, open human being with a deep investment in helping people to find meaning and purpose amidst the chaos of everyday existence.  Life can move fast... and my work is focused on helping you to slow it all down, so that you can better pay attention to what really matters to you. I welcome diversity including all body sizes, abilities, races, sexualities, genders, religions and political values. Therapy sessions with me are collaborative and strengths-based, weaving in heartfelt doses of honesty and gentle challenging. In life, I am a genuine, warm and dynamic person, and that's exactly who you'll experience in our sessions. I believe that the most therapeutic relationships develop when you feel you can be congruent with who you really are. My role is to guide you: to ask about who you are, what you desire (or don't desire) and why. My goal is to truly understand you, identify where you'd like to focus your energies and walk alongside you as you discover your own truths.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 13 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families who are facing significant life transitions such as aging, loss, illness, and pregnancy and motherhood/parenthood. I have received post graduate training in Clinical Hypnosis, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Advanced Care Planning/Palliative and End of Life Care. I also worked for a non profit cancer organization in NYC for 10 years which gave me great insight into what people impacted by cancer and illness are coping with and how to best help them. It is my firm belief that with the right kind of guidance and support, difficult transitions can bring about change, revealing new aspects of yourself and the ability to find meaning in them.

Finding a therapist who fits with you is key to the success of your therapeutic experience. I offer free phone consultations so that we can explore more about your situation and needs. I'd love to hear more about you.
