insight oriented change
therapy for women

ABOUT ME

I'm an authentic, open human being with a deep investment in helping people to find meaning and purpose amidst the chaos of everyday existence. I welcome diversity including all body sizes, abilities, races, sexualities, genders, religions and political values. Life can move fast especially as we adjust post pandemic, and my work is focused on helping you to slow it all down so that you can better pay attention to what matters to you. Therapy sessions with me are collaborative and strengths-based, weaving in heartfelt doses of honesty and gentle challenging. In life, I am a genuine, warm and dynamic person, and that's exactly who you'll experience in our sessions. I believe that the most therapeutic relationships develop when you feel you can be congruent with who you really are. My role is to guide you: to be curious about who you are, what you desire (or don't desire) and why. My hope is to truly understand you, help you to understand YOURSELF and to identify where you'd like to focus your energies. To walk alongside you and support you as you discover and face your own truths.

EXPERIENCE

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with people who are facing significant life transitions such as grief, aging, relationship loss/changes, illness, and pregnancy and motherhood/parenthood. I have received post graduate training in Clinical Hypnosis, Polyvagal Theory and Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,  Emotionally Focused Therapy and Advanced Care Planning/Palliative and End of Life Care. I worked for a non profit cancer organization in NYC for 10 years which helped me to understand grief and loss in all its forms. It is my firm belief that with the right kind of guidance and support, difficult transitions can bring about change, revealing new aspects of yourself and the ability to find meaning in them.
